Selma is a legendary Polish yacht whose team has been traveling to Antarctica for many years. The team is a kind of brotherhood. Several people are the basis of the team in the campaign. These people take care of the yacht. There is no such practice that this team is stable. Each sailing may have a different team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During my voyage, the man, who was the captain’s assistant, told me that the captain had invited him to join the team several times. They are not people with positions or titles. It is a network that is professionally engaged in yachting in Poland. They are united by interests and acquaintances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Team<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The rest of the team on the yacht are people who mostly already have experience in yachting and pay money for sailing. On the Selma, unlike many other yachts, all sailors take part in teamwork. The captain and his assistant are the most experienced. Some of them do not always sleep and control the situation. They drive in the most difficult circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rest take turns. There were eight other team members on my trip to Antarctica. The two of us were on duty in the galley every day. We took care of food and cleaning. The other six stood at the helm. You’ve always had a partner. Therefore, there were eight hours of duty per person per day, and four hours were purely at the helm. The time of day and the weather did not matter. Personally, I was on duty in the storm at force 6 or 7. In the worst storm, of course, at the helm were only very experienced.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
