No Polar Bears

Welcome to Antarctica!

NoPolarBears is a very personal dream to see Antarctica. But it is also a desire to tell about it: words, facts, stories, images, colors, sounds, smells, silence. Tell it so that it feels as if an invisible hook has grabbed you by the collar or sleeve and carried you to Argentina, the southernmost city in the world.

From America, you travel by yacht through the world's most turbulent place in the ocean - the Drake Passage. There are three oceans mixed! Pacific, Atlantic, and South! Yes, it is recognized as a separate ocean, and some species can not even swim out of it, despite no shores seem to bother them. Ha, you will learn a lot of interesting facts and explanations for this trip.

The worst thing for me as a person who undertook to write a book about Antarctica is that no words can bring all the impressions received even in a day. And no photographs can convey the atmosphere that takes you here. Looking for words for descriptions in a notebook, you realize that there are none.

More on first impressions...

Inspiration starts during a walk, a conversation, or a fragrant summer. It happens that it appears with mightily thoughts or stress. Actually, I finally decided to write the first book by the window in the photo. And the second - about Antarctica - in the fall.

In this book, an attempt is made to synthesize and convey to the reader the integral world of Antarctica - a cold, ice-bound, uninhabited, still little-studied region. It extends to the continent of Antarctica and the Southern Ocean with many islands.

About the book...

The main goal of the expedition was the book A Dream About Antarctica. I also managed to work on many other projects about Antarctica. Among them is this site you are on.
